
ADDIS ABABA – Officials who participated in the event organized by the Ethiopian Press Agency in Semera town of Afar State under the theme, “About Ethiopia” stated that the country needs to capitalize on solidarity to solve its all rounded challenges at ease.
Speaking at the event Afar state Chief Administrator Awol Arba said that Ethiopia needs to encourage unity and active public participation to ensure sustainable peace via overcoming all sorts of problems in the country.
According to the president, the country has gone through many difficult situations over the past two plus years due to northern conflict. In this regard, enemies at home and from abroad have been working day in and day out to dismantle the country. However, the country will overcome its problems as it did earlier and continue trekking on a rosy journey.
He further stated that Ethiopia has registered remarkable outcomes such as green legacy initiative despite conflict, drought, foreign pressure, and desert locust for over four years. “As the country has now entertained reform-oriented administration, it would like to focus on harmonious way of living as it is a crucial step to solve the problem and ensure sustainable peace,” he added.
Seconding the above statement, Chief of African Leadership Excellence Academy (AFLEX), Meheret Debebe (PhD) on his part said that Ethiopia has a long aged history and it has been going through complex journey for the past over 5,000 years.
As to him, peace and solidarity are the fundamental issues of all things. Therefore, Ethiopian should focus on unity, peace, and supremacy of law to make capable of meeting what it has long aspired. Meheret further stated that unity does not mean that being the same instead standing together whenever national interest and sovereignty of the nation is baffled.
Participants in the discussion focused on political debate, public participation, bringing criminals to justice, and the like to ensure sustainable peace and remarkable national outcome, it was learned.
